Last of the Mohicans
Okay, so this building isn't really a Mohican per se. :) But it is one of the last of it's kind in The Pearl District.
For those who don't know, The Pearl is my new neighborhood. I'm selling my home and moving into this super hip central area so I can operate a studio that's fun and easy to visit. I can only carry so much when I meet around town, so I'm excited that this will allow everyone to see everything I offer, and really have more of an experience than just going to your local Starbucks.
As I was leaving my building the other day, a bank of dark clouds had just rolled through and the sun was spotlighting this old building. I ran back and grabbed my camera before "it" was gone.
Who knows how long it will be before this building is gone too. It's great to see the incredible development in this area...the economy in this ten square blocks is one that most cities would die for. Of course, that prospect means these buildings are disappearing quickly. I'll have to keep my camera on hand over the next few years to see what other fleeting glimpes I can catch. :)
Hmm. I did this all so visiting could be a better experience for clients, but now I'm realizing that living here is going to be just as much an experience for myself.
Taylor & Rachel
Last Friday I headed over the river (but not through the woods...nor to Grandmother's house did I go) to Vancouver to hang out with Taylor and Rachel. I was a little uneasy about shooting in a totally unknown location, but it turned out awesome! It really challenged me to keep my eyes out for cool spots and think more about each shot, all while being social. It was a lot of fun!
Well guys, you said you felt awkward, but you nailed it. I've heard the same from other clients, but then they see the pics and end up surprised at how relaxed they look in them. You two look like you know exactly what you're doing! :) See you soon.
Tyler & Ashley
This last Sunday, I spent the morning down in Lake Oswego with Tyler and Ashley. We found this cool new park down in the Oswego Pointe area...after a stop at Starbucks of course. :)
These two laugh a lot so I'm definitely looking forward to getting some great shots at their wedding.
Thanks for having fun with me guys!
Featured Music: Colbie Caillat.
A while back when I was getting ready to launch my new site with BIG Folio, I surfed the unsigned artist section of Myspace for hours looking for the perfect music. I finally found it! Her name is Colbie Caillat. We emailed back and forth a couple times and she was stoked to get more exposure so she let me use her music!
It's been awesome...so many people I'm meeting with are saying they love this music and they want to know who she is. Her first album is coming out soon so keep your eyes open for it! She's super friendly and has such rare talent.
I hope you like it!
